4486 .060 Styrene
[4486]

Styrene is a smooth, white plastic which can easily substitute for prototype material because it has a hard, smooth, easily painted surface.  Plastic may be substituted even where weathered, rough timbers or siding are needed.  The surface can be roughened to simulate the various textures of wood by using different grades of sand papers or with a razor saw.  As a substitute for metal, plastic does not conduct electricity, can be handled more easily and is lighter.  The heat generated by high speed power tools can cause some plastics such as styrene and acrylic to melt slightly and become gummy, therefore, it is better to use hand tools for sawing, sanding, or drilling these materials.

Each package contains one 5.5" x 12" sheets of .060 white styrene.  Corresponds to 9.60" in N, 5.22" in HO, 3.84" in S, 2.88" in O and 1.44" in G.
