The Petaluma & Santa Rosa was Sonoma County’s own unique electric railway and steamer line. To compete with bigger Northwestern Pacific it developed “Overnight” service, an innovation later copied by NWP and Southern Pacific. P&SR controlled the LCL freight business in its territory because it was “Last to Leave, First to Arrive”. All lettering per prototype except the cross within the logo, which appeared on company stationery and structures.
